Hi! I’m Eric, your friendly neighborhood therapist. I’m a lifelong geek with an enduring appreciation for how fandoms can help us through some of the most difficult times in our lives. I speak Fantasy/Sci Fi, TTRPGS, Game Conventions, graphic novels, and Marvel movies. I love riding my bike on the lake front and petting random dogs on the street.
When I was 10 years old I heard Indiana Jones say “This belongs in a museum” and I thought that was pretty good lifestyle advice. When I’m not binging the latest season of Mandalorian, I’m wandering the halls of our city’s incredible museums.
I’ve provided specialized trauma care nationally and internationally using research backed gold-standard interventions. I’ve worked for the federal government in specialty PTSD clinics as well as in private practice. I am trained in running individual and group sessions in both residential and outpatient settings. I have specialized training in providing remote therapy.
I was a featured mental health crisis provider in HBO’s academy award winning documentary “Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1.”
I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. In 2014 I graduated with honors from Roberts Wesleyan College with my Masters in Social Work. I received my bachelors in Counseling and Human Services from Empire State College.
I am trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy. I also administer evidence-based trauma groups M-TREM and TREM. I also offer supportive mental health groups using Dungeons and Dragons as a way to conceptualize and address underlying mental health issues.
I’d love to help you get back on your feet after a life altering event. Call today to schedule your no-obligation 15 minute phone or video appointment to see if we would be a good match.
