Counseling is a lot like the Room of Requirement from Harry Potter. It shows up as being different for each person depending on what they need.
Every session is grounded in solid therapy techniques. In order to illustrate or enhance the process, “homework” may also include watching selected movies/ tv episodes or discussing assigned graphic novels to help you understand your symptoms. Others might want to talk about their fears and concerns. Still others want to use guided meditations to explore who they are or would like to be.
People usually come into therapy for a limited time to work through something important. Working on yourself and building new tools in the short term can have long term benefits.
